The White Rose Youth League will be running to a normal programme of events for 2024 with some events on a Saturday to help take pressure of mid week travel and events.

What’s needed to race in the White Rose Youth League?

A quick guide for new riders so that everyone arrives on race day prepared and ready to race in our league. Here’s what you should have:

  • A correctly fitted hard shell helmet
  • A bike in good safe working order
  • Track mitts are advisable
  • Correctly geared for your category
  • Correct clothing
  • Sunglasses to protect from dust & insects
  • Spare wheels & a pump
  • Rollers or turbo trainer
  • Waterproof jacket
  • Spare water bottles
  • Warm clothing
  • British Cycling Race Licence

ABOUT THE WRYL

The White Rose Youth league was established in 2006 with a series of 9 events on the newly resurfaced and remodelled Richard Dunn Circuit at Odsal, Bradford. The league expanded in the following year with a pilot 4 events at the Go-Kart track at Wombwell. In 2012 the league races moved from Wombwell to the purpose build 1km circuit at Forge Valley in Sheffield.
Currently the League uses circuits in Bradford, Leeds, York, Wakefield and Sheffield.

2023 SEASON

For 2023 there will be two race leagues on alternate Wednesdays and Thursdays. The Wednesday League will operate at Wyke Centre in Bradford, Forge Valley School in Sheffield and BKAT Circuit in Wakefield whilst the Thursday League will alternate between the Brownlee Circuit in Leeds and the Yorksport Circuit enabling more young riders from Yorkshire to access events.

THE FINALE

We are planning a full return in 2023 We will hold league events at each venue plus a finale where prizes and awards for all categories will awarded.
