Race Venues

The White Rose Youth League is run at 6 venues at Brooksbank, Elland, Richard Dunn, Bradford, BKCAT at Wakefield, Brownlee Centre, Leeds, York Sport Cycling and Forge Valley which is in Sheffield. All circuits offer traffic free tarmac surfaces and are around between 800m and 1.6km in length.



Bradford – Richard Dunn Sports Centre

The circuit at Bradford is a purpose built cycle track with a great surface for racing on. It has a slight incline, one hairpin bend and sweeping corners.

Directions M62, junction 26 – Exit the M606, via the left hand slip road, take the 3rd exit onto Mayo avenue, passing the petrol station, turn immediate left onto Rooley Lane, take 3rd left onto Sunny Bank Road and the circuit entrance is straight in front of you.

Elland – Brooksbank Cycle Circuit

The Brooksbank Cycle Circuit is a 750 metre tarmac road circuit located close to the West Yorkshire towns of Elland and Halifax and part of the extensive sports facilities of  The Brooksbank School Sport College. The track was opened in June 2014 and provides a high quality, traffic-free facility for cycle training, coaching and racing.

The circuit is at the junction of Hammerstone Leach Lane and Hammerstones Road.

Leeds – The Brownlee Centre

Bodington Playing Fields had a £5m investment in 2017 to create world class sports facilities. It is home to The Brownlee Centre which is the UK’s first purpose-built triathlon training centre and sits alongside a 1 mile (1.6km) cycle circuit, one of the longest in the country.

Sheffield – Forge Valley Community School

The circuit at Forge Valley is purpose built and is 1km in length based on the site of Forge Valley Community School. This new circuit features 2 long straights, sweeping corners and several technical corners to test the ability of all riders.

York – York Sport Cycling

The newest purpose built cycle circuit, 1km in length, the venue is fully enclosed and lit. Funded by University of York, City of York Council and British Cycling.  A café offering Costa Coffee and snacks is a few minutes way away from the circuit. Conveniently located 2 minutes from the East bound A64 from A64 Branch left (at Hull/York signpost), then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A1079 (York) stay in right hand lane take first LEFT sign posted York Sport Village.

Approximate travel times – Pontefract 30 miles/35 minutes, Leeds 28 miles/45 minutes, Harrogate 30miles/50 minutes, Thirsk 30 miles/50minutes Scarborough 40 miles/60mins Hull 38miles/55 minutes.

Wakefield – BKCAT Cycle Circuit 

The BKCAT Cycle Circuit is a 1.1km circuit located at St Thomas a Becket Catholic Secondary School in Wakefield. The Circuit provides a high quality, traffic-free facility for cycle training, coaching, racing and para-cycling.
